First Person Survey for: Captain Skye O'Malley

Name Given at Birth:  By god, its the same!!!!

Nicknames: Cap'n is the only one nickname that anyone is brave enough to use.

Hometown or where you were born: This Isle of Skye is where I was born, hence the name.

Current Residence:  I live aboard my ship The Vixen.

Age: I've seen 36 summers.

Class:  My crew and I are classed as the lowest of the low but in the kings eyes, we are worthy of knighthood.

What do you do, your main function in life/society: We plunder the seas, acquiring baubles, silks and treasure in the kings name.

Have you ever gone skinny-dipping / do you know how to swim: Of course I know how to swim. In fact I've made sure that all my crew knows how. Its saved many a life in the past few years. As far as skinny dipping is concerned, a captain would never tell if she has or not. If anyone knows any different, they'd be smart to hold their tongues or else be visited by the sharp end of my rapier!

Do you make fun of people: My sisters and I think its awful that the ladies of the court have to walk around in their full skirts and multiple layers....poor things. To not be able to take great strides, climb rigging or sit in at the Cross Keys Inn and have a ale must be simply terrible. We occasionally express our "horror" on behalf of those pitiful creatures to all and sundry as they cant express it themselves.

Favorite Color: I'm particularly partial to gem colours. Ruby, emerald and sapphire colours are simply wonderful colours on any woman especially my sisters and I.

Have you ever committed or been convicted of a crime: I act with the permission of my king so no, I have not been convicted or committed a crime. Now, if you might possibly asked the King of Spain if I've ever committed a crime, I'm sure he would answer differently.

Closest friends/How did you meet: My closest friends are my sisters and my crew. My crew has been accumulated over many years of acting in the kings name.

One Pillow or two: Actually I have a feather filled pillow that I "acquired" while plundering a Spanish galleon last midsummer's eve. Its rather nice and smells occasionally like duck.

Pets: Pets....on a ship? I have no pets unless you class our male mouser on the ship as a pet. Id rather think of him as another male employee who's job it is to keep the rats and mice at bay in the hold.

Favorite Type of Music: I love to hear shanties sung by my crew late at night when all the seas are calm

Hobbies/Pastimes: Late at night when the seas are calm and we have a hull full of booty to return to the fair island of skye, my sisters and I love to sharpen our skills at card play. We do seem to do very well much to the dismay of many of the men we meet on our travels.

Personal Hygiene: I am an unusual captain in that I demand that all my crew jump in the ocean at least once a week. I don't like the way a man smells after toiling in the rigging all day and having an all male crew makes the odors aboard unbearable sometimes. Myself - I like to have a bath in the wooden tub in my cabin at least once a week.

Favorite Food: Soda bread and fresh churned butter, yum!

Are your parents alive, do you get along with them: Alas, my parents have long since passed on.

If your parents are dead, when and how did they die: They died many years ago when their ship sunk on a voyage coming back from France.

Favorite place to relax: I love to relax on ship when all is quiet for the night. While in Canterbury, my sisters and I can be found lounging at the cross keys inn playing cards.

Favorite Holy Day / Why: Everyday is a great day for the O'Malley sisters!

Favorite Drink: My favourite drink is a cool mug of cider.

What's your bedtime: I don't have a bedtime. I go when I wish.

What, if anything, do you usually wear on your feet: I wear black thigh high leather boots

Are you married or single: I'm single and I'm not looking as I don't want to give my independence and power to any man. I will marry again if the king desires it but he knows well my wants and desires and is willing to accommodate them at this time.

Do you have a family / who are they: I have two sisters, Mercy and Hope O'Malley

Favorite Entertainment: I love to watch a good sword fight or joust and am partial to a good game of cards.

Favorite Subject in School or Chore growing up: I loved to sail with my father. I learnt the art of map reading early in life.

Least Favorite Subject in School or Chore growing up: Scrubbing the decks when i was caught misbehaving is what I hated most.

Favorite Sport: The joust. 

Most Humiliating Moment: I almost fell out of the rigging once in full view of my entire crew as well as my sisters. If not for the rope getting caught around my ankle, I'd of plummeted to the decks below.

Proudest Moment: My proudest moment was the day I took my fathers ship out for the first time. I was proud because the ship and crew were now under my command although it was bitter sweet as my fathers passing was the reason the ship had become mine.

Craziest Person or silliest you know: I'm a visitor to Canterbury so I'm not quite sure who might be the craziest here. Mad Maudlin was definitely the craziest person I met on the last harvest day.

What do you look for in the opposite sex: Strength, power and money are very important in a man that would like to meet Skye O'Malley. Last but not least he has to be fair on the eyes.

In our Hierarchical Society everybody has somebody "over" them, Who is your immediate "overlord" I answer to none other than King Richard.

Favorite Sport to watch: 

Do you remember your first kiss: Aye, I remember my first kiss but that is between myself and the person I kissed!

Do you keep in touch with your childhood friends: Most of my childhood friends now work for me so yes, I keep in very close touch.

Where is your favorite "Vacation" spot: There is a wonderful little spot off the French coast that I like to stay at.

Have you ever been overseas: I spend most of my life on the sea.

Do you have Dirt/Mud floors or Stone: I have wooden floors

What is your bed made of: My bed is a beautiful leather mattress filled with ticking which I acquired for the same ship as my pillow

How many people sleep in your bed: just one

1. I'm one of the most powerful females on the sea.

2. I'm a mean swordswomen and card player.

3. I was married once to a rather priggish man that accidentally fell overboard during a storm only one month into our marriage.

4. My sisters mean more to me than life itself. Any man foolish to hurt my sisters will rue the day they were born.

5. The Isle of Skye may look poor but it is not!

6. I have lived 36 summers.

7. I think my sisters and I look well for our advanced ages

8. I have yet to meet a man that is deserving of my affections.

9. My king, in my eyes, is the only man deserving my respect
