Leopold Bloom

Leopold BloomFirst Person Survey for: Leopold Bloom, Duke of Middlesex

Name Given at Birth: Our given name was Lee Bloom.

Nicknames: Our dearest friends call us Lee-Lee, you may call us Leopold.

Hometown or where you were born: We arrived upon God's green earth very near Canterbury, indeed we grew up in the fields just to the east of Canterbury.

Current Residence: Currently you would find us staying at Carisbrooke with Master Doublet, but our residence is PinkHall north of London in Middlesex.

Age: We are, and have ever been, the age of flowers in the Spring.

Class: We are of course nobility, having been granted titles from their majesties.

What do you do, your main function in life/society: We are the one and only florist to Her Majesty, Queen Eleanor and as such it is our duty and privilege to bring beauty and grace to the Court of the King.

Have you ever gone skinny-dipping / do you know how to swim: Swimming is not an adventure we choose to experience personally, if perchance we were to encounter others doing such things we would certainly watch the event and enjoy it from the relative safety of the bank.

Do you make fun of people: We often have been found to take our sport from the antics of others, but never so that they would know.

Favorite Color: As a florist it seems obvious to us that the colors one should be most fond of are pink and green.

Have you ever committed or been convicted of a crime: We have never been convicted of any crimes, and the stable boy is a liar!

Closest friends/How did you meet: Our closest friends are Gaylord and Fraydrick the moment we saw them in the court of Her Majesty we knew we would be dearest friends forever. Though some may think it is improper, and we would never admit it, our dearest friend is Leot, our most trusted servant.

One Pillow or two: Counting our pillows seems to be a grievous waste of time, there appear to be just fewer then the number we require and Leot is always bring us one more.

Pets: We abhor pets, they eat the flowers and knock over the plants, especially ... Lemurs

Favorite Type of Music: We enjoy most the beautiful sounds of the harp and flute played by the shepherd boys in the fields.

Hobbies/Pastimes: Our favorite pastime is to lay in the fields with the shepherd boys; watching and listening to them play with their instrument.

Personal Hygiene: One must always look and smell their best, we require a bathe at least once a day, to remove the pigment from our face and apply it fresh.

Favorite Food: Cheese is the only true food. We have found that anything served on a stick seems wondrous, favorite to us is pork on a stick.

Are your parents alive, do you get along with them: Our mother lives still in France, our father left us the vineyards and gardens outside Canterbury when he left with mother for France.

If your parents are dead, when and how did they die: We have not heard from father since he left for France, mother never speaks of him.

Favorite place to relax: The Royal Gardens is the best place to relax and we are oft found there.

Favorite Holy Day / Why: Easter is of course our favorite Holy Day, the flowers are in bloom and bedeck the altar of the Church, and everywhere one looks they see the pink and green of growing things.

Favorite Drink: Honey Meade is the gift of God to the sons of men.

What's your bedtime: We understand the terms bed and time but together offer no comprehension. When we tire we sleep, Leot continually suggests to us each night that we might indeed be tired, before Leot entered our service we were seldom tired and oft saw the brightening of the eastern sky.

What, if anything, do you usually wear on your feet: We most prefer to wear our slippers made from the softest wool and dyed a delicate shade of pink. When out in the elements we wear a heavier slipper made of leather, but still dyed pink or green.

Are you married or single: We are not only single, but endeavor to stay that way.

Do you have a family / who are they: We have been told that mother has borne several children since leaving for France. We have never met any of them.

Favorite Entertainment: When the Court gather around Their Majesties and sing it is a pleasing entertainment indeed.

Favorite Subject in School or Chore growing up: Planting the vineyards and flowerbeds was always a task we found pleasing, knowing that beauty will grow and flower as the fruit of our labours.

Least Favorite Subject in School or Chore growing up: The daily weeding of the gardens was the most tedious boring and unrewarding of chores, when we acquired the means to hire others for this task our life again was happy.

Favorite Sport: Master Doublet and myself have created a sport called the Hanky Toss, it is our favorite sport.

Most Humiliating Moment: Father decided we needed to become a real man and so we went to visit Madame Red and her girls. The memory of that occasion haunts us still and no details need mentioned here. Since then they have taught us many things and we have found that they are wonderful friends.

Proudest Moment: The proudest moment in our lives happened when Her Majesty appointed us as her Royal Florist.

Craziest Person or silliest you know: Giacomo is the silliest and craziest person we know, it is no wonder he was appointed as the King's foole.

What do you look for in the opposite sex: The only thing we ever look for in the opposite sex is money, nothing else interests us.

In our Hierarchical Society everybody has somebody "over" them, Who is your immediate "overlord" King Richard and Queen Eleanor are our master and sovereign.

And how do you feel about that person: We have nothing but love, appreciation, devotion, and pride for our Monarchs.

Favorite Sport to watch: The Joust is always pleasing to watch, we watch and wait for our knight in armour to show us his prowess.

Do you remember your first kiss: We remember not our first kiss, but there have been many since that we do remember!

Do you keep in touch with your childhood friends: As our social status did change we are surrounded by others then those we grew up with; how'ere it is always a pleasure to return to Canterbury for the harvest faire and reacquaint ourselves with the populace there.

Where is your favorite "Vacation" spot: Vacation is another word that has no meaning to us, we live our life daily as if we were on holiday.

Have you ever been overseas: Oft we have travelled in search of new plants and flowers for Her Majesty. Just last year we travelled to Rome.

Do you have Dirt/Mud floors or Stone: PinkHall has marble floors, but currently we are staying at Carisbrook where the floors are stone.

What is your bed made of: Our bed has a wooden frame with rope stretched end to end and side to side. On the rope is ticking stuffed with eider down, and coverlets of velvet and tapestry in winter. Overall are piled pillows so that we feel only softness and comfort in our bed.

How many people sleep in your bed: Many have been in our bed but few sleep there, unfortunately we most oft sleep alone.
