Name Given at Birth: Hope Isabel O'Malley Nicknames: Baby Sister Hometown or where you were born: Ireland Current Residence: Aboard the Vixen, unless visiting townships or villages Age: 32 Class: Some call it scum, I see it as freedom What do you do, your main function in life/society: My sisters and I deal in appraising and dealing in fine commodities. Have you ever gone skinny-dipping / do you know how to swim: I do swim when the occasion calls for it. Skinny dipping? Nay, I cannot tell of such scandalous behavior on my part. You might believe me to be a rogue. Do you make fun of people: I might make fun of someone if they make fun of me. Tis not polite if one likes to start a task but not complete it. If you dislike being made fun of, do not make fun of me! Favorite Color: I do enjoy red and black. The black keeps me warm and the red casts off excitement and passion to others. Have you ever committed or been convicted of a crime: I twould not call it "stealing" but "freeing" a person of their burdens. Besides, is it considered a crime if I am not caught? Closest friends/How did you meet: I do not have many friends. Perchance the sailors and crew aboard The Vixen are my friends. But I trust them not. The only friends that I claim twould be my sisters and they are blood. One Pillow or two: I have one pillow. Pets: I have no pets. There are rats on the ship but they do not habor my affections. Me sister, Mercy, had a pet parrot once. The blasted thing kept trying to bite me! Favorite Type of Music: I like the bawdy rough songs in the pub. I've not attended a ball to know the music there. Hobbies/Pastimes: My sisters and I love card games, bone games and dice. We play for coin at our favorite tavern in the villages and towns we commonly visit. Personal Hygiene: Although I may not bathe frequently, I make myself very presentable. I like a tidy ship and myself tidy as well. Favorite Food: Fresh fruit and soft bread with butter! Are your parents alive, do you get along with them: Aye. My mother be Grace O'Malley, I am her last daughter to be born. She raised me on a ship, in bays, along many a coast. I remember not my father. I hear gossip that he is a noble Englishman! No doubt she wants to keep me a secret if I have English blood in me. I am surprised she didn't drown me with the terrible things that the English governor has done to my countrymen. If your parents are dead, when and how did they die: No matter what the nobles say, my mother is very much alive! Favorite place to relax: I do enjoy sailing along the cliffs. The earth and the ocean colliding make me feel a part of something far greater than society. Favorite Holy Day / Why: Twould be the first of August and it be the feastday of St. Hope. It is said that Wisdom gave birth to Hope, Faith and Charity. And when the three daughters suffered martyrdom during the slaughtering of the Christians, the three daughters died and Wisdom died at their graves. My mother named me Hope for the reason of resurrecting divine Wisdom for her people. Favorite Drink: I enjoy a fine wine at harvest. What's your bedtime: I go to bed rather late. I am full of energy...ask my sisters. What, if anything, do you usually wear on your feet: I wear boots! Are you married or single: I am single. I did nearly marry once, a fine man in Italy. His words were like a fine cream on fresh fruit...smooth and rich. Then my sisters showed me how he spoke so richly to every girl in the marketplace. We met up with him outside of the little village, beat him senseless and left him with only his knickers! Do you have a family / who are they: Aye...my two sisters Mercy and Skye. I am ever amazed at their stable strength and support. Each of us are strong but together we are invincible! Our mother is very proud of us. Favorite Entertainment: I play cards and chance games with my sisters and others in the pub. Favorite Subject in School or Chore growing up: I did not attend a school per say. But my mother taught me to read and I picked up wonderful people skills as well. Least Favorite Subject in School or Chore growing up: I never liked cleaning anything....period. Favorite Sport: OH! Running! I do like a good run! Believe it or not, I run my best with guards in pursuit. Most Humiliating Moment: My sisters and I were in a pub watching a drinking contest. Mercy bet on this scrawny, bow-legged fledgling and I bet on a big, burly brute of a man! You see, I learned that night each body processes the rum at different speeds, the scrawny kid won! And I had to walk around town in a dress we acquired from a merchant woman in Brussels. It had a hoop skirt! I was in a hoop of all things! Bloody rum anyway. Proudest Moment: One of my mother's family heirlooms was in a large estate on the outskirts of Dublin...a small ivory music box. Skye and Mercy diverted the caretaker's attention long enough for me to sneak around the home and find the box in the Master's bedroom. I took the box and fled out the back with Mercy and Skye parting ways with the caretaker. Craziest Person or silliest you know: We have a merchant that has taken us in as nieces. He's a wonderful tradesman we supply our items too. Every once in a while, he will switch signs on his shop to Baker or Tailor, or Shoemaker to throw people off and visit his shop! He has not sold the dress I had to wear from my bet. He says he is saving it for my wedding day. Off his post but a lovely man! What do you look for in the opposite sex: Tall, strong, handsome, good health and teeth; after all, a good cabin boy is hard to hire these days. In our Hierarchical Society everybody has somebody "over" them, Who is your immediate "overlord" I have not an Overlord. Maybe my mother or sisters. And how do you feel about that person: Although I do see my mother on occasion, she does not hand me orders. I look up to my sisters as well. They have led me through some bone-chilling moments unscathed.Favorite Sport to watch: Oh Jousting of course! The sound of clashing metal makes me think of sailing aboard The Vixen! Do you remember your first kiss: Remember my rum story? The bow-legged boy did make my humble moment up to me in the dark corner of the pub. Do you keep in touch with your childhood friends: Nay, I did not have many childhood friends growing up. I do recall memories of my childhood with other children. We played everywhere; on the docks, the beach, we used to air dry fish lungs and pop them. Where is your favorite "Vacation" spot: I see many places but I never claim them as a vacation. I do like coming back to port in Ireland and resting in the green fields. It's peaceful to me. Have you ever been overseas: Aye, that I have! Do you have Dirt/Mud floors or Stone: wooden on the Vixen What is your bed made of: I sleep in a hammock in a small room beside my sisters How many people sleep in your bed: Myself
