Titania
Name Given at Birth: The name given me when first I drew breath can not be shaped by human lips nor writ by mortal hand. If you wish to hear it, lie beneath the water of a forest waterfall; the stones there ever whisper my name.
Nicknames: To most, I have no name. Many peoples have gifted me names so they may have such to praise or to curse or in the simple wish to know me. To the roaming peoples I am Ana of the enchanted mountain castle. To those people of the Celtic isles I am known as Aeval or Gyre Carlin. I have been Wandering Dame Abonde or Habonde, Queen of French Fairies. I have even been known as Queen Mab upon occasion. Though most often I am simply referred to as the Fey Lady, Green Lady, Lady of the Forest, or the Queen of Faeries.
Where were you born or created? I was created in the land of Faerie at its own very creation; a realm created of chaos, beauty, and magic. Much like myself, no?
Current Residence: I reside in the land of Faerie, though it oft touches and parallels the mortal realms and at times there be a place here or there that one and the other are the same. Whilst traveling these mortal realms, I chose to abide amongst the oldest forests where my children know me best. Though, upon occasion, I have been known to reside a night or two in the company of human man as the fancy takes me.
What do you do, your main function in life/society: I am the seed-sower for all things natural and magical. I reign over the fey kingdom. All manor of shadow and fairy pay me courtesy.
Have you ever gone skinny dipping / do you know how to swim: Though I need not such skill, as I may walk the deep and breathe as so many fishes, I can indeed swim if the fancy takes me. I do, upon occasion, enjoy the cool water of the forest pool, the foamy brine of the excitable sea, and the gentle chatter of the rushy brooke with not leaf nor thread twixt myself and the lifeblood of nature. Lo, take heed if one wishes to spy me without my petals or without my leave for I have taken thought from Diana herself to turn such a gazer into all manner of bird or beast.
Do you make fun of people? Why would I have cause to do such a thing? Betimes I might loose a teasing word to my Oberon to stir the blood but in the end it is more to stir passion than trouble.
Favorite Color and why? My favorite is the color of the sky for it changes as does my mood; most often a bright and happy clear blue, a burst of all the warmest gilding colours at the fiery set and rise of the sun, a velvety smooth purple black dotted of sleepy stars of light at night.
Closest Friend(s)/How did you meet: It is difficult to say who one’s friends are when one leads a life such as mine. If friend be those most oft by your side, then they be my fairies and the forest itself. If friend be those to whom you pour out your heart and gossip your soul’s tales, then they be the whispering wind, the babbling brooke, and the chattering leaves. Lo, if friend be those that have spied your most vulnerable and yet still wish your company and you theirs, I would divulge only my Lord Oberon… though were he to let slip my vulnerable moments or intimacies, he would regret the tongue in his head.
Pets: My newest delight and dearest creature upon whom I dote in excess is my Changeling. Through such hardship she a miracle came and stole my heart. To watch her grow and play will be such fun!
Favorite Type of Music: I fancy all shades of music from the wind’s sweet song to the stampeding herds’ fierce drumbeat across the plain. Yesterday my favorite was the violin of a wandering human mortal tribe. Today I did hear the giggling of my dear Changeling Babe and it was of the sweetest music to myne ear. Who knows what new music I may hear upon the morrow?
Hobbies/Pastimes: Music and dance are of the highest amusements to the fey and the revels of all my children are of such wonder and delight to me. Faith, the truest delights of my times past are the hearty revels of humans; the banquets, the masques, the stage set for comely men to woo and dote upon a lady…
Favorite Food: Any manor of fruit, grain, or nut when laced with saffron be the delicacy of which my tongue calls Ambrosia.
Favorite Place to Relax: Naught but a sunbeam!
Favorite Drink: Cool clean water can quench any thirst of mine. It is particularly tasty when sprigs of leaf, herb, or flower float through the water of a sunny day. Such elixir is a treat!
What’s your Bedtime? As I do enjoy all parts of the day and night, I wake and sleep as the fancy takes me. If I choose to dance in the moon’s light then else times shall I sleep. If I choose to nap among the slanting sunbeams then else times shall I wake.
Are you married or single? My hand is fast to my strong and handsome Lord Oberon, who I did make my own ages ago. However, I am also married well to life and life often takes me from his side. Though, I admit my trysts are oft times short lived for no man can intrigue my heart as strongly as does my good Lord. Why else would I have made him mine?
Favorite Entertainment: My elves can think up the most marvelous of games. My favorite of the moments is fairyball. Though it has taken many forms and incarnations, the current game requires a ball to be batted by hand back and forth over a rope. Wondrous fun!
Proudest Moment: I am indeed the sower of seeds, seeds of life and seeds of magic. Each time a seed takes root and breathes its first breath, each is the proudest moment of a long existence.
Craziest or Silliest Fey Person you know: While our mischievous Robin Goodfellow is truth the silliest and most rambunctious person I know of, there are plenty of crazier sprites. Once I did spy a satyr of Oberon’s court donning hosen and cap just as a mortal man! What cause has a satyr for such raiments? It must have been touched in the head.
What do you look for in the opposite sex? As with so much in life, I seek power and beauty in a man. Power of the arm, of the mind, and of the spirit. Beauty in the body, in the action, and in the soul. Such is the man that piques my attentions.
In our Hierarchical Society everybody has somebody "over" them. Who is your immediate "overlord"? The titans who created me are my only true overlords. Though many a mortal calls them one god with many a face, 'tis all the same to me.
How do you feel about that person? I am, of course, grateful and heartily glad for my existence and must pay the proper due and respect. Although largely, as they deign to be spare from my life, I do so also choose to spare myself from theirs.
Favorite Sport to Watch: The teasing pursuit of lovers, the dance betweens mates, in all living being is of abundant and pleasing sport to spy.
Do you remember your first kiss? Sooth, there have been so many that memory weakens with time. Alas, 'twould have been ages since.
Where is your favorite "Vacation" spot? When all life weighs upon my shoulders such that I am in need of refreshing renewal, I spirit away to the sands or pebbles or cliffs of Neptune’s shores.
What is your bed made of? Wherever I am, the softest and most fragrant spot I find, there I rest me. A baby’s cheek makes sweet pillow and soft lashes make soft blanket while the warm scent of their skin and bare breath lulls me to sleep. A meadow nest of new sweet grass makes downy bed while spring’s first blossoms of musk roses and violets make fragrant cover and head rest. Even finest sand, mattress of down, misty cloud, and newfall snow have made me bed.
How many people sleep in your bed? This changes as where I choose to slumber. A rabbit’s warren or grove of meadowsweet and clover I may share with many a fairy or creature. My love’s bed would naught I share but that whose arm about me. Oft I sleep only with myself as company, though sentinel stand close at hand.
