Name Given at Birth: Auberon is my given name from birth. However, over the years my name has changed pronunciations.
Nicknames: King of Shadows, King of Fairies, and King of Elves. These are just some of my titles that many of my followers have used in reference and in paying their respects to me. My loyal subjects call me, King Oberon.
Where were you born or created: I have always been. I have existed since the beginning of time and shall ever exist from here until eternity.
Current Residence: I reside wherever I believe I am needed. Although, do love a revel whether it be with my court or gypsies of the world.
What do you do, your main function in life/society: My queen and I are the rulers of all things in this world. We control the weather, nature, and humans around us unknowing to them. To make my queen or myself vexed upon each other or you would most certainly cause great havoc upon the world.
Have you ever gone skinny dipping / do you know how to swim: I do know how to swim being that I am a creator of rivers, lakes, and steams. How I do love to float along a river flowing slowly on a midsummer’s day. The sound of the river flowing with the rest of the world’s creations in perfect harmony around me. Nothing is more tranquil.
Do you make fun of people: I do not make fun of people for that is why I have my Puck.
Favorite Color and why: I have many favorite colors as I am a creator of all that exists. To choose just one color would not do justice. I would have to say that light is my favorite color. For it is light that allows all colors to be possible, and it is light that allows mortals to see my creations.
Closest Friend(s)/How did you meet:
Puck – I found wondering around these English lands for some time. I followed him for three days without his knowing. I watched him play tomfoolery on many unsuspecting mortals. He would lead them astray and misplace things of importance. Sometimes he would change into a mangy black dog. In this disguise he would gain a mortals trust and love. The mortals would feed him and care for him. Then one night he would disappear and leave them behind. I would watch this happen and laugh to no end. On the third days of my travel in pursuing Puck, he caught wind of my following. Being the mischievous being he is he thought it wise on his part to try and trick me. Little did he know I was not the one to be tricked. He set little traps along the trail I was using to follow him. However, I used my powers of creation to creating new trees and trails to lead him in a circle. In doing so Puck ran right into one of his very own traps. Swept off the ground and struggling upside down in the air and with a very confused look on his face, I stepped forward from the Shadows and introduced myself to him. I asked him to walk with me for a bit. We had a long conversation where Puck agreed he would stay with me and be my Puck.
Windsong – I met at a gypsy revel being put on by the Boleyn Kumpania. She was playing the windpipes while the gypsy troupe was beating out a very passionate, soul invigorating beat. The use of the pipes was like that I have ever heard. Never has anyone ever matched her skill. Because of her skill and that night, I knew that Windsong would be a perfect fit in my court.
Chestnut – Chestnut is my warrior satyr. They only satyr to match almost closely match my own skill and warring drive. It was also at the revel mentioned above that I met Chestnut. During this revel, the Boleyn Kumpania were showing off their most recent hand-to-hand combat dance. Feeling up to a challenged, I danced my way into the middle and purposed a game, a form of wrestling. Each combatant must grab hands and then pull, push, and maneuver their opponent to the ground. Every Boleyn fell to my feet. I asked is there not one among this revel that can best me. Chestnut leaped before me and locked up with my hand. We battled for what felt like eternity before finally kneeling before me. Being the first time Chestnut was ever bested, Chestnut asked to stand by my side forever more.
Ember – Faithful friend of Chestnut. If I did not know better but I would say that these two were related. Ember has one of the shortest tempers. The smallest bit of annoyance sets Ember off. We found Ember one day while walking on a trial in the new world. Puck was head of Chestnut and me. When we heard screaming and trees being up rooted and destroyed. We hurried to the scene of devastation to find Ember swinging an entire tree at Puck. Impressed with the shear force and power of Ember alone was enough for me to ask her to join my court. However, Ember’s annoyance with Puck’s mischievous nature made that instance all the funnier.
Mud Dauber – The smallest and youngest of my satyr court. Abandon on the outside skits of an Asian Village. I found Mud playing with a pack of wolves. It is the gentleness and love for these animals that was a piece I was missing. It is Mud’s innocence and kindness towards those around, that drew me and has inspired many of my later creations in this world.
Pets: Puck is my pet. He does my bidding without fail. He is the one I can always count on. Although there are times where he has botched a task before him, he is and always has been faithful to me.
Favorite Type of Music: The beating of the drum is what gives rise this spirit. Especially, the beating sounds of the hunt to come. The fast paced beatings on the head of multiple drums and the hand-to-hand combat of the dance that ensues. What other music could give rise to such an event.
Hobbies/Pastimes: My favorite pastime is hunting in a forest. I prefer hunting only the fastest and strongest of animals. For it is these creatures that test and refine my skills the most. I also enjoy participating in physical combat whether it is hand-to-hand combat in a dance or wrestling with my warrior satyrs and Puck
Favorite Food: My favorite food is that of fresh fruit and cheese. The taste of ripe strawberries and apples in the morning after a night or fresh rain. The freshest cheese from that of the French region of the world. I do carry a magical cup with me that is ever-full of what it is that I desire.
Favorite Place to Relax: My favorite place to relax is also my favorite place to sleep. It is upon a cliff top that is completely covered in a thick moss. This moss is the softest moss I have ever created. It feels like I am sitting/laying upon a cloud. The moss allows any part of my body to sink into it and become one. The view from this cliff over looks a trail laid deep in the Canterbury Forest and many beautiful fern and oak trees.
Favorite Drink: Since I have told you about my magical cup being ever-full, I have only the finest of mead in my cup. This wine is a brew that only a god can partake in. Made of rich honey mead and a hint of ripe strawberries.
What’s your Bedtime: I have no bedtime because I go where I am needed at any time. Although, I do have my cliff that I love to lay upon, watch the mortal below, and look upon the night sky.
Are you married or single: I am married to Titania, Queen of Fairies.
Favorite Entertainment: My favorite entertainment is that of watching Puck. How he amuses me so. His antics of messing with Mortals, other Fairies, and Satyrs is what amuses me the most. His curiosity and mischievous nature is a wonderment to me. How a creature such as him could get into countless situations that require my attention.
Most Humiliating Moment: It is not well known, but Queen Anne Boleyn and I have had an affair. This however is not the most humiliating part. Our love affair was to remain secret. On many a night, I would wonder to her quarters. On this one particular night, I was almost found. There were many servant coming in and out of the queen’s chambers that I started to run out of disguises. Until it happened, I shape shifted into the exact same person entering the room. I was stuck. The chamber maid screamed and fainted. She hit her head of the cold hard stone. The Queen quickly ran to my side and kissed my check. She then told to me to take my leave as she will handle the maid. This was our last meeting. From that night there were many rumors that spread wide, but many were dismissed as talk.
Proudest Moment: It was the night when Titania and I were married. All of the creatures of the forest, Gypsy Kumpanias from all over the world, and all fairies were gathered in the garden of the gods. A secret place of great beauty and eternal enchantment. Only visited upon on momentous occasions. Titania was garbed in a white dress that shimmered in the sublime light of the garden. He wing fully spread wide and a golden jeweled crown upon her head. With her court by her side and my court by my side, we vowed to forever love and to inspire the greatness in each other in every endeavor we set out to do together.
Craziest or Silliest Fey Person you know: As stated above in my favorite entertainment, Puck would be the silliest Fey I know.
What do you look for in the opposite sex: Titania, my Queen, is exactly what I look for in the opposite sex. She must have long dark hair like the roots of an aged Fern tree. Long hair that would blow wildly in the wind created by myself to show her soft milky white skin. Her skin as soft as the petal of the Tudor Rose. A little shorter that I. A mind that is also as keen as my own.
In our Hierarchical Society everybody has somebody "over" them. Who is your immediate "overlord": I do not have an overlord as I am a God along with my wife, Titania.
How do you feel about that person: I love this person since it is my wife and myself that I am talking about.
Favorite Sport to Watch: I love to watch Mortals hunting. The primitive techniques and methods. They have yet to learn how to fully use what has been given to them. Their instincts and natural abilities left untapped. I do amuse in watching.
Do you remember your first kiss: It was upon Titania and myself first meeting some ages ago. We met upon a cloud in the sky. It was an autumn evening. The Harvest moon in full bloom. The stars shone bright in the sky. The North Star the brightest of all. We stood there before each other. Not a word spoken. I moved closer to her. She stepped back one step. I hesitated for one second, and then bowed before my Queen. I offered her my hand. She gracefully reached for mine. I took her hand in mine, and I pulled her near. I embraced her in my arms and looked longingly into her eyes. I closed my eyes and breathed in deep taking in her sweet scent. I opened my eyes. Finally, we both leaned in and kissed each other gently on the lips. It was from this first meeting and kiss that I knew we were meant to be.
Where is your favorite "Vacation" spot: I truly have no favorite vacation spot as I am a creator of all. Thus, all "spots" created in the world are a favorite to me for every spot is a piece of me I am leaving behind.
What is your bed made of: As stated in my most relaxing and bedtime statements above, the mossy cliff top on the edge of a trail deep in the Canterbury Forest is where my bed is located.
How many people sleep in your bed: I sleep alone. I do not need nor wish for Puck or the company of my loyal subjects to be near by. The night time is for me to lay and ponder the day’s happenings and it is the time when my best creations come to mind. So, I wish to be left to my thoughts at night.
10 Things Everybody Should Know About Me
1. The affair between the Queen Anne Boleyn and me is true. But being not of magical blood, I bestowed some of my power upon her so that she may forever see in our world.
2. Titania knows about my affair with the Queen, and in retaliation had a secret affair with the King Henry VIII. However, she did not bestow any of her powers on him, and thus I still to this day find ways to vex the King.
3. I do not like being called "The King of Fairies". Even though it is one of my nicknames, the heavens have mercy on you if you call me by my nickname and you are not known to me.
4. I have a problem that must be resolved. Titania has a changeling child that I am in need of. I want her to bestow this child to me for my bidding and training.
5. I can not resist the temptation of a hunt or wrestling match. No one has ever bested me in any event which involves physical prowess.
6. I am a beautiful god. I know this and highly use this to my advantage. I am not vain though. I value this gift because I did not use to be so. I was once a dwarf and of average beauty. Through my acts of kindness and helping of a wicked fairy was I granted this great beauty.
7. I have a favorite tale I like to tell. It is a tale of greed and misfortune. It is of an two traveling companions. I play the central part in this tale. I teach these two men a lesson in greed and humility. It is a wonderful tale, and makes me laugh every time because my faithful Puck acts out the entire story before me.
8. I love to sing when the mood catches me. To have a some strange song played and new lyrics to flow from my lips, it is a pastime of mine. The songs created by me are definitely a one of kind arrangement and never written or heard of again like the blowing of the wind.
9. William Shakespeare is a friend of mine. I often visit him to listen to his new tales. He has been known to write a sonnet or two for me to recite to my Queen. Titania does not know that these sonnets were created by another, but she loves to hear them so.
10. Puck is my pet and dear friend. It may look as if I mistreat him or care not for him. This is far from the truth. I care deeply for him. If I ever find out that anyone has hurt my Puck, they will incur a wrath like never seen before. These mortals will bow before me and wish that they had never performed the deeds committed.
