Charles Brandon
Name Given at Birth: Charles Brandon

Age: 32
Class: I’m Duke of Suffolk. That makes me One of three Dukes under Henry the VIII, even though I am not of royal blood.
What do you do, your main function in life/society: In 1513 I was made master of the horse. So it is my duty to take care of all of the Kings breading, such as his horse and hounds
Have you ever gone skinny-dipping / do you know how to swim: Yes I know how to swim. And as far as skinny-dipping goes, what Princess Mary and my wife do that is not your concern.
Do you make fun of people: I would never make fun of people. Well, are the French people?
Favorite Color: I would say Green, I love going with my wife riding in the countryside of Wangford, Suffolk. The trees are as green and as lovely as my wife’s eyes. Hunting in the spring with her is such a joy.
Have you ever committed or been convicted of a crime: On the 5 of March 1515 I married Princess Mary Tudor the Kings sister and with out his permission. This was an act of treason. I could not help it, I wanted her for my wife as long as I could remember, but as she was a Princess it could not be.
You see the King; (Henry VIII) made me take Mary (his sister) to France to marry Louis XII. This broke my heart. The whole trip across the English Channel I could not look at Mary with out my tears coming to my eyes. Then I Had to give her to this French king as his new wife. So she was married to the king of France and I sailed home to England. Then only after 82 days of marriage the French king was dead, and I asked Henry if I could go to France to bring Mary home. He said Yes as long as I bring the dowry home as well. So off I went, so happy to get to see my Love and to bring her home. The strangest thing, when I arrived in France Francois I (the new king of France) told me that Mary confessed to him that she truly loved me and he wanted use to be married. I was told by Henry to keep my relations with the widow queen formal, but how could I knowing that she loved me and I loved her. So I went right away to Wolsey and then to Mary. It was the most emotional reunion. We talked long into the night. I knew it was treason and could mean my death, I was torn between my obedience to Henry and my love for Mary. I chose love, what else is their worth dying for. But thanks to Wolsey and the Kings love for Mary and I, he finally forgave my wife and me. And now we live happily in Suffolk.
Closest friends/How did you meet: Arthur was my best friend growing up, he and I were to gather always. Arthur is Henrys old bother and was to king of all of England. I remember how Henry would follow us around. I loved them both they were like my bothers. When Arthur died Henry and I became really close. It seemed that we would find a way to make the biggest trouble out of nothing. Henry would all ways take the full blame though, I think he knew things would go less hard on him then me. And most of all Mary (she is the young sister to Arthur and Henry) My wife, growing up with her and her two brothers at White Hall was a joy in my life that I will never forget. Mary love to tell on us, I think she thought it was funny to see us getting scolded for something that we should not have done. As Mary grew older and very beautiful I found myself wanting to spend time with her more and more. I was well into adult hood when I know that I loved her. And I think God in heaven every day for her and the love we have.
